Indexes to Naturalization Records, 1900–1991

This series consists of alphabetical indexes of declarations of intention and petitions for naturalization from 1900 to 1991. Each alphabetical index includes at the minimum the petitioner's or declarant's name and record number. The chronological index of certificates of citizenship from April 26, 1926 through December 05, 1991 includes the petitioner's name, the date that the certificate of citizenship was issued, and both the petition and certificate numbers. Some of these cards show declaration numbers.

Cori, Gerty Theresa, 1896-1957

Gerty Cori, the first American woman to win the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, was born in Prague, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, in 1896. Educated by tutors and in private schools, Gerty decided at the age of 16 to study medicine. She entered the Realgymnasium at Tetschen, from which she graduated in 1914, and then proceeded to the Medical School of the German University of Prague.
